# Connect Hopper Homes

How to connect Hopper Homes to Santara AI. The setup inside Santara AI is the same for every channel ([Connect another channel](/channels/other-channels/)); this page covers what is specific to Hopper Homes.

## Before you start

- Prices and bookings on Hopper Homes are in **USD** — your prices are converted automatically.
- Use the **same email address** for Hopper and for this connection.
- A **property with at least one room** in Santara AI.
- **No other channel manager or iCal link** on the property in Hopper Homes — two systems updating one calendar overwrite each other.

## 1. Switch the connection on in Hopper Homes

Hopper Homes has to allow the connection first. Channex is Santara AI's connectivity partner — it is the name Hopper Homes knows us by.

1. Sign up for a Hopper Hosting account at **hosts.hopper.com/signup/channex**.
2. Open the email from Hopper Homes and press **Join Hopper Hosting** to set a password.
3. When asked whether you use a PMS, choose **Yes** and pick **Channex**.

## 2. Connect in Santara AI

1. Open **Settings → Channels → Add a channel**, find **Hopper Homes**, and press **Connect**.
2. Pick the property it is for.
3. Fill in the fields below, then press **Test connection**.
4. When the test passes, press **Connect and continue**.

| Field | What to enter |
| --- | --- |
| Verified Host Email | The email you signed up to Hopper with. |
| Display Host Name | The host name guests see. |
| Min Stay Type | **Arrival** or **Through**. Usually Arrival. |
| Send Property Notification | Optional. Tick it and a **Property Email** field appears — that address gets an email for every new booking. |

If **Test connection** fails, check the ID, then ask Hopper Homes support to confirm the property is connected to Channex.

## 3. Map rooms and rates

- Hopper Homes listings are **created from the setup screen**: create a listing for each room, pick its property and room, fill in its details and save.
- **Activate** the listing, then map it to your room and rate on the mapping screen.

Map **every** room and rate Hopper Homes shows. One left unmapped gets no updates, and Hopper Homes keeps selling it on its old availability.

## 4. Import and go live

Santara AI checks what is mapped, turns the channel on and brings across the stays Hopper Homes already has. From then on, rates, availability and restrictions sync from Santara AI — see [Going live](/channels/going-live/).

:::caution[Don't delete the connection]
Hopper Homes does not let an account reconnect. If you delete this connection you need a new Hopper account with a different email address.

## Good to know

- Answer Hopper Homes guests in Hopper Homes's own inbox — guest messages from Hopper Homes do not come into Santara AI.
